RARA FOR HAITI T-SHIRTS!

      
       This design is a collaborative art piece created by both New Orleanian and Haitian artists who worked together to create an inspirational image using symbols that are integral to both cultures. 
      The prominent Haitian symbol in the background is an interpretation of the Love Veve ("veh-vay").  It is easily recognized by Haitians and inspires hope and love.  The fleur-de-lis that fits inside the veve's heart symbolizes New Orleans. 
     The fleur-de-lis was brought to New Orleans by the French, and it has gradually been adopted as a symbol for the city and its residents.  It gained significant meaning after Hurricane Katrina, and it continues to instill hope.  It is also the official symbol for the New Orleans Saints, the city's football team who have become another symbol of rebirth and hope.
     The fleur-de-lis interlaced within the Love Veve represents the compassionate dedication that New Orleans has committed to helping Haiti heal.
